These mothers are fully aware they can act with impunity because of the gross ignorance and dysfunction of the German Family Court system, to include uneducated Judges in PAS and an apathetic Jugendamt. Does a system of accountability for these mothers exist at all?!! Where is the legal justice in this country!? And what about these poor children whose psychological and emotional integrity is slowly poisoned by their parent as the system stands by and watches?? Where is the clinical intervention for these children who are suffering?! My husband has legally advocated for his child (German/American citizen) for 3 long years in Germany only to be met with an archaic system that seeks to reinforce a German mother centric ideal, ignores the disturbing and indisputable facts of the case, while threatening to place the child in foster care if he does not drop his petitions that seek to protect his child's welfare and preserve the father/daughter relationship. The profound ignorance in the German social and legal systems is ASTOUNDING. The mountain of social dysfunction and cultural and language differences is nearly insurmountable for a foreigner.... I cannot help but wonder how many other American fathers and children have been lost forever in this thick mire of shit. Without educated and passionate legal counsel, significant financial resources, unending family/social support, and undying perseverance, no average father could possibly survive the system. Fathers rights should be inherent and if they are flagrantly abused and disrespected by alienating mothers, the social and justice system should enact accountability that is swift and increasingly punitive for each offense, with a change of custody as the final action. Focus should be on protecting a child's long term growth and development and determining which parent is best able to provide this, and is best capable of promoting the child's relationship with the other parent. In this regard, a parent's sex, nationality and the short term stability of the child is unimportant. A updated social view that reflects the most current research on child development, the growing multiculturalism of Germany, the complexities of international marriages and divorces, as well as education on Parental Alienation Syndrome is desperately needed!Anonymnoreply@blogger.com
